God's Word This Weekend

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

The time has come once again to make those aware, who have not yet become a member of the family of God

that another opportunity is quickly approaching. Christian Initiation has threeparts, so those who have been baptized are urged to complete the other two Sacraments Christinstituted for entry into the Church. The Eucharist, the source and summit of the Christian life, isnot only a communion meal, but a requirement that we need for eternal life. He emphasizedfour times, as recorded in John, the necessity to consume the New Covenant of His Body andBlood in order to receive eternal life. “Amen, Amen I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of theson of man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.” Christ calls everyone, but Hesends us to His Church for salvation. He sent Annanias the Bishop to St. Paul to be given thethree Sacraments of Christian Initiation in Damascus. So if St. Paul had to become a memberof the Church to start his journey to sainthood, think about your situation 2,000 years later. Areyou going to say yes to the call you receive from Christ like the Blessed Virgin Mary at theannunciation or no like the rich man? Life in the Church Christ founded is more valuable thanany earthly thing that is holding us back, such as family, pleasure, etc. The freedom of Christ issaying yes to His request to join the family of God on the Easter Vigil. Your journey doesn’t startuntil you enter the Order of Christian Initiation. If you are interested please contact FatherMohan or Glen Grable for more information.
